Ran and Lost 2014 Election
In office January 2011 – August 4, 2014. Thomas Goolsby represented Senate District 9 in the North Carolina Senate, is a member of six committees, and is the primary sponsor of 227 bills. NC Sen. Thom Goolsby dismissed Moral Monday protesters as "morons" and "clowns."
Apparently there are four potential Dem challengers:
- Deb Butler
- Julia Boseman
- Andrew Barnhill
- Elizabeth Redenbaugh
fmr NC Sen Julia Boseman (D) re-establishes campaign cmte in late Oct, she's been 'considering' race http://bit.ly/1cp8dCO
Here's a quick take on what Jensen thinks the polling shows:
Senate District 9, Thom Goolsby, Wilmington: Best pickup opportunity for Democrats at this point with Goolsby down by 12 points to a generic Democrat with a majority (52 percent) disapproving of his performance.

Highly vulnerable - in purple/blue part of state, narrow win in 2010, lots are highly motivated to defeat him due to "Moron Monday" comment.
