By the setting of the sun soldiers from the activated national guard of North Carolina were patrolling the streets of our largest city, Charlotte.  The night prior had seen disturbances verging on riots, as protestors against the killing of Keith Lamont Scott in murky circumstances turned their frustrations against uptown storefronts.

Fashion statement aside, bowties have become like a Masonic handshake for young Republicans.  Kyle Hall, incoming representative of the 91st district, fits the look to a tee. He is now the youngest representative in the General Assembly, at age 25 when many a lad is working in a coffeeshop to pay back student loans.

"If murderers (and I would include abortionists, rapists, and kidnappers, as well) are actually executed, it will at least have the deterrent effect upon them. For my money, we should go back to public hangings, which would be more of a deterrent to others, as well."

Rep. Jonathan Jordan (R-93 Ashe) was on the 1985 championship State Quizbowl team, when he was a student of the N.C. School of Science and Math.  He then went on to get his law degree from UNC and used his education both as the county attorney for Stokes County and as Communications Director for the NCGOP itself as well as the John Locke Foundation.
